In this module you will review principles that must be followed when transporting, receiving, storing and preparing food.
6. Microbiological Contamination
This module focuses on spread of harmful microorganisms to food that doesn’t naturally contain those microorganisms.
7. Personal Hygiene
This module outlines the principles of personal and hand hygiene. It also describes correct hand washing techniques and principles of glove usage.
8. Cleaning & Sanitizing
This module discuses cleaning and sanitizing to control microorganisms and keep your food and your customers safe.
9. Pest Control
Knowing a little about the kinds of pests food premises deal with will help you control them.
10. Food Safety Management
This module walks you through the seven principles of the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point system.
11. Practice Test
The Practice Test comprises 15 questions. These questions are designed to prepare you for the Final Exam.

1. What’s a Food Handler's Certificate?

It ensures you know how to keep food safe from contamination, making it essential for anyone working with food. In many places, it’s also a legal requirement.

If you’re a chef, cook, server, or work in any role involving food preparation or service (even as a volunteer), chances are you need one.
4. Does my certification work everywhere?
It depends on your region. Some certifications are accepted in multiple areas, but it’s best to double-check with your local health authority.
Getting Certified:

- Take our online food safety course as an accredited provider.
- Learn the basics: hygiene, food storage, and avoiding contamination.
- Pass a short test at the end of the course.

7. How long does the certificate last?
Most certifications are valid for 5 years, but this can vary. Be sure to renew it on time!
Costs & Replacements:
8. How much does it cost?
Prices usually range from $25 to $100, depending on the provider and location. Some employers even cover the cost.
9. What if I lose my certificate?
No worries! Contact us and we will issue a replacement. Send us an email requesting the replacement certificate and we will issue a duplicate certificate for an administrative fees.

10. Is the test hard?
Not really! It covers common-sense topics about food safety. With a little studying, you’ll do just fine.

12. Refunds or Cancellations:
If you haven't started the online course the refund is possible up to 85%.
If you have started the online course or the date of expiry( 1 month from registration) has passed. There is "NO REFUND".
In case extension for time is required, please send us an email at info@alphalifetrainers.ca with a subject line " EXTENSION FOR FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATE" and a fees of $ 25.00 + tax after we confirm extension.
